Konark Odisha

Konark is a medium town in the Puri area in the province of Odisha, India. It lies on the drift by the Bay of Bengal, 65 kilometers from the capital of the state, Bhubaneswar.

It is the site of the thirteenth century Sun Temple, otherwise called the Black Pagoda, worked in dark stone amid the rule of Narasimhadeva-I. The sanctuary is a World Heritage Site.

The sanctuary is presently for the most part in ruins, and an accumulation of its models is housed in the Sun Temple Museum, which is controlled by the Archeological Survey of India.
