Banswara Rajasthan

Banswara is a city in Banswara District in south Rajasthan in India. The territory of Banswara was established by Maharawal Jagmal Singh. 

It is named for the “bans” or bamboo backwoods in the region. It is otherwise called ‘City of Hundred Islands’, because of quality of various islands on the Mahi River named “Chachakota” where the islands found, which moves through Banswara. Banswara city is administered by City Council (Nagar Parishad) which goes under Banswara Urban Agglomeration.
